Fucking comics lying to us. I spoke to my brother who is still getting over COVID-19. He said his sense of smell is still mostly gone apart from noticing strong perfume or horrid stench. His sense of taste has gradually returned but last days it suddenly disappeared which coincided with his grass allergy. I asked him if he developed bat sonar to compensate. He said NO.
I remember the day's here I use to get excited when I would get a new year batty. This year, 7 years, I just remembered to check a week ago.
I remember when I use to get upset if someone did not give my profile a rate of 10. Below that, I would want to know what about my profile could I fix that would warrant them to re-rate me a 10. I rarely check these days to see what my actual rating is.
I use to check my honor rate all the time. (Especially when Cancer first put in the system) I never asked people for the honor rates and I was always happy when someone felt I deserved their honor. These days I see how honor system is used and I rarely check my own anymore.
I use to log into VR every day and was eager to read the forums and people's journals because they would write about amazing topics on vampires, witchcraft, all kinds of mystical arts. We had some great debates on the forums. Now I force myself to log in 3-4x a week. I rarely go to the forums and journals, well... they just hold no interest for me but a few folks I call friends here just to see how they are and what they are up to these days.
Most messages I get these days are people asking me to rate and add them. They never message me to ask how my day has been. Or birthday announcements from VR but at least 80% of the birthday people no longer log into VR.
Yeah sadly things change when people suck the life out of it and blame others for why they do it in the first place. I remember when this site was all about fun and randomness now its about who can lie the best and brainwash the most. I doubt this will change unless people are slapped properly for what they do.
I wanted to add that I use to enjoy rating new profiles and meeting the new people who created them. But even that now is just mostly profiles creating to post nasty stuff about someone else here. Suspended profiles from breaking the TOS and multi profiles made by some to pretend they are new. Also, I noticed the majority of new profiles made they only stay a day or two then never log in again. I have just gotten to where I only rate the first page showing every now and then.
It is sad that new people are run off because of drama people cause. I have been silent for the most accepting the harassment I have been under I have tried to make peace nothing is enough
You did your best in the forums, you can't really do any more than that my friend. A lot of good members has left the site so that doesn't help matters.
Well said hun. You are so right about things here. So many days of drama gets to a person to make them wonder why they even stay. I loved seeing your posts and journals about the good things. So many people in this world need our attention and help and we as a large community should take up one cause a month to help those in need. Turn this place around again and be whom we all should be a strong internet family.
